The technological advancement of engineering has had an important impact in modern life with the emergence and development of polymeric materials. Currently these materials have a wide application ranging from the food industry to the manufacture of composites used in the aerospace industry. Polymeric foams, in turn, are better known as insulators and floats or as fillings in cushions and packaging. Its applicability is little explored and studies, such as this monograph, continue to be carried out to better understand its properties and to expand its applications, such as in the aeronautical, ceramic and automobile manufacturing industries. The use of polymeric porous molds is a reality in the world of the manufacture of ceramic, by means of the method of slip casting. This method is not widespread nationally, in the process of manufacturing tableware, due to the high cost of molds. The production of parts by a faster process, whose mold is executed in the company itself, is the stimulus for the production of a porous mold with a water-based epoxy foam. Three foam preparation methods were tested and the samples were evaluated for apparent density, modulus of elasticity, damping and microscopy. These tests were done with non-destructive methods and after a compression strength test was performed. A relative cost analysis for the modulus of elasticity was also made for compositions with specimens. All these tests were carried out aiming the characterization for the direct application of this polymer of engineering in the industry.
