Resumen
Television production seeks inspiration for his works from a variety of sources, including literature. This master’s research aims to analyze the work A casa das Sete Mulheres produced in two different media: the historical novel, written by Leticia Wierzchowski (2002). And the homonymous television miniseries launched by Rede Globo de Comunicações (2003). The miniseries reached high ratings for the producer, disseminating the historical event beyond the borders of Rio Grande do Sul and boosted the sale of the book to which it was adapted. The miniseries and the book portray the Guerra de Farrapos. From the point of view of women in the family of General Bento Gonçalves. This research’s objective is to reflect how female characters in each of the works are represented. To make it possible to analyze the changes made when adapting the literary work to the audiovisual media. The works’ analysis is based on feminism, intermidiality (CLÜVER, 2006), and adaptation (HUTCHEON, 2006). At the end of the research, it was possible to list how each of these women was represented, as well as the degree of female subversion presented in the representations.
