Resumen
In order to succeed, an organization must have qualities such as differentiation and competitiveness when compared to its similar. Considering this context, using predictive tools to spot possibilities of improvement and avoid losses becomes vital to maintain a company into the market. Nowadays, the methods used to make predictions in industries are software that can create a model and simulate industrial processes. Once there is a considerable amount of different software available today, there is no certainty of which one is considered the best, which ones are used as a teaching tool in universities and which ones are the most used in industry. This research has the main goal of helping to choose or start using one of those software by leaving a data survey. The final results show ARENA as the leading software in both brazilian universities and scientific publications. In industry, ARENA is the most likely to win because of its time in the market.
