This work proposes to analyze the start and finish time of the CP V-ARI cement using the calorimeter and thermography. The handle is caused by the exothermic reaction of the cement compounds with water, the initial heat of hydration is given by the hydration of the aluminates followed by the silicates and are accompanied by raising the temperature of the cement paste. The handle start corresponds to the rising part and the handle end corresponds to the peak of the heat release curve. This property allows for the widespread use of Portland cement concrete in construction. The knowledge of the amount of heat released is important for the appropriate choice of the type of cement according to the ambient temperature in the concreting. It was aim to analyze the feasibility of the use by comparing the results, with different water / cement and paste ratio of normal consistency, of these equipments with those obtained by the standard procedure using the Vicat apparatus. In the experiments the feasibility of using the calorimeter was determined to determine the cement setting times. This result was found by comparing the results obtained with the calorimeter to those obtained with the Vicat apparatus.
