Resumen
The growing demand for food production in the world has stimulated increased production of animal protein, including the production of chicken meat. The use of alternative antibiotic growth promoters, including functional oils and seaweed extract assist in better bird performance. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of broilers supplemented with functional oils and seaweed extract (OFA). 224 male broilers from Cobb were used type cut 1-42 days old, divided into two treatments with eight replications, as follows: 1. Control treatment without OFA and treatment 2 - diet with OFA (1.5 kg / ton). The parameters evaluated were weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, feasibility and cost benefit of 1 to 42 days of age the animals. In this work, there was no significant treatment effect on weight gain and viability (P> 0.05). However, there was a decrease (P <0.05) in feed intake and feed conversion. The inclusion of functional oils and seaweed extract improve the growth performance values of broiler chickens and their use is economically viable.
