Resumen
The present work presents the study, design and implementation of a class D audio amplifier using surface mounted technology (SMT). The amplifier has a power of 100 WRMS, with a harmonic distortion of less than 1%, measured with an input signal at the frequency of 1 kHz. With the use of surface mounted components (SMD) and through holes (PTH) of high technology, as well as the elaboration of a detailed layout of the components on the printed circuit board, it was possible to obtain a good sound quality. In the initial stage of the work, a detailed study of both amplifiers and surface mounted technology (SMT) was carried out. At the project progress, the values of the major components that were used in the amplifier are calculated. In the implementation stage, the amplifier was assembled in order to perform tests and measurements in order to verify the operation and to specify its main characteristics, in order to compare them with the expected theoretical data of class D amplifiers.
