dc.description.abstract | In this work a study of the influence of thermal tank geometry in solar heating systems were done using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) resources. Initially bringing a literature review of studies already carried out in this area, highlighting the methods by which the results were achieved, and which are the factors that most influence the efficiency of the operation of solar heating systems, and the most active of all is the stratification. Thermal simulations of the water heating process and tank filling were made with proposed geometries and obstacles. It can be argued that the method used brought results in good agreement with the bibliography, and that the use of vertical orientation tank with a conical-shaped diffuser of the cold water inlet favor the maintenance of the thermal stratification contributing to a good system performance. | |
