Resumen
By definition, harmonic is a periodic wave component that has an integer multiple frequency of the fundamental (usually 60Hz in Brazil). Harmonic distortions can cause severe equipment damage and endanger the lives of people if not properly controlled. In this paper we will present the case study of the harmonic distortion present in an educational institution in the region of Votuporanga-SP. This research will be aided by the Design Thinking tool that will define the stages and the way of development of this work. Through the analysis of data collected by a power quality meter, ideas to reduce the present harmonic distortion levels will be discussed. These ideas will be filtered and the best option will be chosen for the development of a project that presents a solution to the case.
