Resumen
Primary Oil Processing treats a series of treatment operations with the objective of treating oil to refine the poster. The first steps are the selection of oil, salt water and natural gas. After selection of the components of the mixture, the oil proceeds for desalting and removal of impurities, salt water for removal of rejuvenating oil and natural gas for removal and dehydration. The primary cylinder separator with baffle plate and baffle to induce phase formation for component selection. This operation is often performed on offshore platforms, after the oil is removed from the producing well, going to the primary treatment units. Currently, research is carried out to optimize the sizing and operation of the separator, especially because of its high area occupied on the platforms, methods to reduce the occupied area becomes necessary. Using a numerical simulation, computational fluid dynamics, combined with the VOF model that captures mixture interfaces, the selection profile between aqueous and oily phases was described, generating pressure fields, density, velocity and study mesh identification with component selection and boundary conditions.
