Estudo da localização de faltas em sistemas de transmissão HVDC utilizando ondas viajantes

Abstract

The growth of the implementation of high voltage direct current (HVDC) electric power transmission lines has been attracting studies for the development of new tools and equipment that assist in the protection, operation and compensation of these systems, highlighting in this scenario the importance of locating occurrences of faults in large transmission lines. Given the above, this work aimed the application of the traveling waves to fault location in HVDC transmission lines using data recorded in the two terminals of the system that interconnects Porto Velho (RO) to Araraquara (SP) available in the case library of the ATPDraw software. This work aimed the application of the Wavelet Transform (WT) and Butterworth Filter to characterize and detect the arrival moment of the voltage waves in the terminals of the power system, arising from a faulty situation and, thus, estimate the distance of occurrence of this fault. By simulations realized in this work and obtained results, it's possible to notice that both techniques present good results and applications possibilities.
