Resumen
The present work purposes to carry out the study and analysis of the corrosion resistance of the dual-phase steel, DP 600, which is an advanced high strenght steel - AHSS, which has potential application in the automotive industry, contributing to weight reduction in vehicles, lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The laser welding process was carried out with different combined parameters of scanning speed and laser power: 50 mm/s and 1500 W, 25 mm/s and 750 W, 12.5 mm/s and 375 W. This parameters were set in order to keep the same heat output. For industrial use, the DP600 steel has a zinc coating, which due to the laser welding can have their resistance to corrosion changed. This work conducted a study of the influence of welding parameters on the corrosion rate. It has been performed procedures to prepare metallographic samples to optical microscopy analyses of each weld bead microstructure, as well as the base material with zinc coating and polished sample. After the preparation of electrodes with the different samples, electrochemical studies of each weld bead and base material with zinc coating and polished samples were carried out to determine the values of corrosion potential, micro and macro polarizations, observing the behavior of the advanced alloy. The electrodes were exposed to an aerated solution of NaCl 3.5%. With the electrochemical data the corrosion rate was calculated for the different electrodes, allowing to assess the changes in the corrosion resistance.
