Resumen
The development of new technologies and the use of ecological materials offer to engineered wood products a global growth. They are produced from the junction of more than one wood composite, using the best property of each one, providing qualified and efficient structures. This way the industry has sought alternatives to improve the performance of physical and mechanical properties, resistance to bio-deterioration and better dimensional stability. Noting the great demand from the construction industry
to new solutions, the wood structures and wood derivates products have great potential to fill this space. The wood "I-Joists" are industrial profiles produced by using structural panels on the web, composed of OSB (Oriented Strand Board), and solid wood on the flanges. This study evaluated experimentally and analytics, two beams with different web to flange joint, in order to compare the performance of stiffness and shear strength.
