dc.description.abstractThis work had as its theme the students' difficulties at 7th grade with four mathematical basic operations, considering that at this stage of teaching that content should already be mastered by students because from these concepts they could move forward and have the skills to learn subjects more complexes that require a well-developed abstract thinking and mastery of basic factors relating to learning math, such as calculating mental and autonomy in solving mathematical problems. Here at work rather than theoretical aspect involves learning math, the results of the survey of students at a public school in the periphery in order to know the clientele that would be observed and the teachers of this city, finding their aspirations and major difficulties encountered in the teaching of mathematics and four operations. With the results from the interviews and observation of students during the year we raise hypotheses regarding the reasons presented in the 7th grade still many difficulties with respect to the domain of the four mathematical operations.
