Sequenciamento da produção (just-in-sequence) na linha de montagem final: estudo de caso em montadora da RMC

Abstract

Just-In-Sequence is a manufacturing strategy that applies the Just-In-Time ideas in a more extreme level. It is employed mainly by the automobile manufacturers, because this industry is very competitive, has a relatively stable production and utilizes high added value components. This dissertation describes the Just-In-Sequence operation in two automakers located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC). It also presents computer simulations, utilizing the software Flexsim, of the Just-In-Sequence as well as the traditional Just-In-Time and the partially sequenced Just-In-Time, being applied in the operation of a part of the final assembly line of an automaker in the RMC. The simulations are compared to each other. Lastly, it is introduced a cost estimation method developed to analyze the economic impact of the shift from Just-In-Time to Just-In-Sequence in the supply of a given module (preassembled parts kit). The method was applied based on the data of an assembler in the RMC working in Just-In-Time. It was verified if the change to Just-In-Sequence can be advantageous.
