In contemporaneity, Applied Linguistics has served as a basis for several researches that seek to understand the constitution and functioning of the discourse genres, which have their own outlines in the digital medium. In this work, we aim to analyze the genre videoclass as a sócio-historically statement situated in cyberculture, focusing on the platform YouTube. The theoretical basis derives from the dialogism of the Bakhtin Circle, in addition to sociological studies that allow a better understanding of virtual interaction. The methodology is characterized by a qualitative-interpretative bias, and the corpus consists of three videoclasses from YouTube channels: YouTube Edu, Me Salva! And Umberto Mannarino’s channel. From the analysis of the social dimension of genre, we focus on approaching the sphere, the chronotope and the subjects in interaction. We observe that the online videoclass is built in the sócio-historical conditions of late modernity, in a space-time of disengagement in social relations and search for legitimate sayings, in which the educational sphere is crossed by genres and discourses from other spheres. As for the subjects foreseen in interaction, we notice an extrapolation of the teacher-student relationship, which results in a producerconsumer of content relationship. Furthermore, in the verb-visual dimension analysis, we comprehend that the object Enem’s essay is realized through various discursive purposes, which are interchanged between pedagogical and commercial interests, mediated by YouTube’s platform algorithm. Style projections, in turn, reveal a relationship of closeness and humor, through a high level of colloquiality. Regarding the composition of the videoclass on YouTube, we observe that the memory of the genre class is resignified to adapt it to the platform’s video format. From the results, we interpret YouTube’s videoclass as a hybrid genre, crossed by spheres and purposes which characterize it as a video of educational content – a genre permeated by the discourses of education and entertainment.
