Resumen
This monograph consists of the design of a high-energy Attritor type mill for laboratory use. The Attritor mill is usually used for thin and ultra-fine milling; it included a vertical jug with a series of rotors and loaded with balls. The milling may occur by impact or friction between the grinding medium (balls) and the material; the jug also becomes a region of impact and friction. The size of the rods, the diameter of the balls and the capacity of the mill directly affect the design. In this work, for a better analysis of the components and dimensioning, experimental data were collected using two different sizes of 25 mm and one 30 mm rods, as well as five different loads with a 10 to 1 ratio of the ball to the material, with emphasis on experimental determination of milling power. All components were dimensioned as well as some produced and tested for a better understanding of how the spacing between the rods and the jug and the size effect of the balls. It was determined that the milling power and torque values are much larger than those calculated.
