Resumen
The present work studies improvements in the geometry of heat exchangers in an indirect flame biomass furnace used in a plastic drying system, with the objective of changing the internal geometry of heat exchangers to reduce fuel consumption during drying. operation. Technical visits were carried out to collect information that would enable the modeling through CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools. During the study, pre-existing heat exchanger models proposed in the present work were simulated based on boundary conditions similar to those presented during the operation of the equipment. At the end, a comparative survey was made between the performance of heat exchangers under the same boundary conditions with regard to the flow and temperature of the working fluid air. With geometric changes, it was possible to propose models with greater performance in heat exchange without drastically affecting manufacturing costs.
