Resumen
The great production’s demand of derived from poultry makes the productive chain seek additives and supplements that are able to promote improvement in growth, productivity, product quality and profitability of this sector. Therefore, this work ims to evaluate the insertion of algae extract on top (AE) in female broilers of Cobb lineage submitted with five levels (0%, 0,3%; 0,6%; 0,9%; 1,2%). During this experiment, the zootechnical performance variables have been weekly verified, as being the living weight (LW), middleweight (MW), weight gain (WG), ration consumption (RC) and food conversion (FC) of the poultry. On the seventh and on the thirty-fifth day, it has been collected the intestine for the measurement of intestinal villus. On the twenty-eighth day, four poultry of each treatment were slaughtered for the evaluation of the carcass yield, weight loss by drip (WLD), weight loss by baking (WLB), determination of the Pectoralis major muscle coloring, determination of the pH, texture, chemical composition (humidity, ash, lipids, proteins), lipid oxidation (carried after 120 days of storage). The dataobtained have been submitted to the statistic analysis using Generalized Linear Model (GLM) and the Information Criteria of Akaike (ICA). The results have shown a significant difference on the middleweight on all the weeks of the experiment. On the first week (1-7 days), it has been verified that the ration consumption increased with the extract inclusion. Still on the seventh day, it has been observed a significant difference between the treatments on the crypt diameter development in the duodenum and jejunum segments. The diameter of the villus from the ileum region has also showed a significant difference. The results obtained on the twenty eitght day have showed that the insertion of algae extract on the 1,2% level has decreased the abdominal fat deposition. It has been found that on the 1,2% level the yield of the thigh was higher. However, according to the growth of the algae extract level, higher is the shearing force to the fiber rupture of the Pectoralis Major muscle. The insertion of algae, with the used levels, still decreases the water absorption by the PectoralisMajor muscle. On the other variables analysed have not been observed significant differences. It has been concluded that the insertion of algae extract beneficially affects some aspects, like: thigh yield, abdominal fat deposition, WLB and it improves the development of the duodenun and jejunum crypt region. However, it can damage aspects like texture and not interfere in the ration consumption and food conversion. The results show that it is possible to identify that the usage of algae extract on the broiler diet helps the possible application of this product on the industrial chain.
