dc.description.abstractThe environment within the industry is generally characterized by environmental conditions and unfavorable work, excess heat, noise, dust, gases and long working hours. An unfavorable work environment can lead to occurrence of stress among workers, leading to lost productivity and accidents. This study aimed to assess the situation of health and safety at work in a Mechanical Industry, the functions of welder, boilermaker, machinist, industrial mechanic and painter. The study was conducted in a Mechanical Industry, located in Guarapuava - PR. The research population involved 59 workers within the industry. The identification of occupational risk agents was made by analysis of the injury report for service, identifying the causal factors of accidents, ratings observativas work environments and consulting the Accident Control Program (PCA) and Prevention Program Environmental Risks (PPRA) environments analyzed. Function welder major risks were found metal fumes, non-ionizing radiation and accidents. In the brazier risks found were metal fumes and non-ionizing radiation. In the lathe was to accidents while performing work on the lathe. Already in the painter's main risk was found for exposure to hydrocarbons and mechanic industrial metal fumes and hydrocarbons. This work shows that in all functions analyzed were the presence of agents of occupational hazards influenced by several factors. This finding proves there concern for the possible consequences on the workers, if no corrective measures.
