dc.description.abstractIn a mechanical project engineers and designers are faced with the need for decisionmaking related to the selection of suitable projects, with analysis of several variables such as cost, quality, productivity and others. In this way, the present paper has the objective of proposing a model of ranking of possible solutions in a mechanical conformation project. For this selection, an analysis of failure modes and effects is initially performed to select criteria. In the sequence, feasible alternatives are specified for a given mechanical design. The method of entropy aggregated to the Direct Rating method is used to weigh the criteria. The TOPSIS method orders solution alternatives for mechanical designs. The proposed model is applied in a stamping tool in the production line of the flat seat axial bearing body, according to the case study of a company in the auto parts sector. As a result of the application of the method, it is verified that the alternatives that meet the needs of the decision makers were ordered. It is verified that the proposed model can be adapted for application in several mechanical projects that require the analysis of criteria.
