This research presents an analysis regarding the lateral rigidity of a 10-pavement structure made of reinforced concrete in order to evaluate performance. A total of 19 different structural arrangements were developed and analyzed by the software Eberick, and the structural elements were dimensioned to obtain several parameters for the analysis, such as horizontal displacement, quantitative of materials and, mainly, the coefficient . From these, tables and graphs were set up to aid in the comparison of the results. At the end, it was possible to perceive that the greater the lateral rigidity of a structure, the costs tends to be greater. In addition, it was verified that in some cases, by decreasing stiffness by reducing the section of the columns, the increase in steel consumption could occur, canceling out the savings obtained by reducing the volume of concrete. It has also been noted that small increments in the sections result in a significant reduction in the coefficient and in the horizontal displacements without the costs rising very high, making this practice advantageous and compensable. The analysis became more interesting, noting that the software itself implemented in its new version a tool for optimizing the dimensions of beams and columns, which works in a similar way to the one made in this work, however, being faster and automatic.
