Abstract

Nowadays, agribusiness has been standing out in the national scenario, and one of the featured activities is milk production. Dairy farming is growing and undergoing modernization to become more competitive in the market. Automation is a solution that arises to fill the labor shortage in the field, which is becoming increasingly scarce these days. Automation is applied in various activities of dairy farming, such as the milking process, identification of animals, cleaning of environments and animals and other activities that assist in the correct management of the herd. With the use of automation, there are several benefits, including improved quality of the final product (milk) to the consumer and greater profitability to the producer. This work aims to carry out the study of automation in dairy farming in the city of Arapoti, emphasizing the automation equipment and systems found in the properties and the benefits provided to producers. From this study it was found that the more automation equipment is installed on the properties, the higher the production and, consequently, the higher the profits. Through the benefits provided by the use of automation equipment in the dairy industry, especially in the milking process, it was found that investing in automation technology enables the producer to lower production costs and provide better conditions for carrying out the activities.
