dc.description.abstract | With the higher cost of native wood and it’s predatory source without sustainable management, wood from planted forests as Pinus and Eucalyptus, emerge as an alternative to supply the demand and contributing to environmental conservation by generating less impact and promoting sustainability. Due to the low use of wood from planted forests in civil construction, it may suggest the use of new executive methods, such as lightweight roof trusses made with reforested wood and connections made with punched metal plate fasteners, widely used in countries like the United States and Canada. This study presents a literature review on reforested wood, especially Pinus, the types of roofing structures used in Brazil and in the lightweight roof system, the industrialization of lightweight roof trusses system and the characteristics of connections made with punched metal plate fasteners, being performed laboratory tests to evauate the behavior of punched metal plate fasteners connections when varying the angle between the wood grain direction, obtaining the strength properties of the joints and its failure modes. | |
