Resumen
This paper presents how the participation of alternative renewable sources in the Brazilian electricity matrix is increasing and how these impacts on the operation, maintenance and planning of the matrix. A brief description of the current configuration, future projection of the world electrical matrix, and experience of other countries with the expansion of variable renewable sources in their energy matrix is presented. Next, it presents the configuration of the Brazilian electrical matrix, its actors and its future projections. Then it is discussed on alternative renewable sources, wind, solar photovoltaic and thermal to biomass. With these data, a survey was carried out of the impacts of these sources in the national electric matrix, where they are segmented into five main categories: seek public acceptance in particular for new transmission lines, coordination and integration in planning, develop a market flexible enough to operate with renewable sources, expansion of sources and geographical location of them and modernize the operation of the electric system.
