dc.description.abstract | Given the high levels of competitiveness present in the logistics sector, the option to choose for railway or road modal by the customers of the sector is defined by the operator that has better tariff conditions. The optimization of maintenance costs becomes key in the process of improvement and operational efficiency of a railroad, given the high number of locomotives that the operator has to own to promote the movement of its trains. The diesel-electric locomotive, and more specifically the railway diesel engine, is highly relevant. The implementation of the predictive maintenance technique through the Lube Oil Analysis in the diesel engines is the theme of this work. The methodology employed allowed the study of the entire current process and the implementation of improvements through the rebuild of process flows, improvements in the information management of the results and the implementation of new procedures and checklists. The result achieved allowed a reduction of 19% in the number of open alarms and a 39% increase in the indicator of adherence to lubricant oil samples by the field teams, in addition to the qualitative gains evidenced in this work. | |
