Resumen
Nowadays, forms of renewable energy generation have been in evidence around the world as they help to preserve the environment while meeting the needs of society. One of the forms of renewable energy used for electricity generation is Photovoltaic Solar Energy. In Brazil, following the publication by the National Electric Energy Agency of Normative Resolution 482 of 2012, consumers acquired the right to produce their own electric energy. This paper presents an economic feasibility study between two types of photovoltaic installation for a residential microgeneration for the city of Curitiba, the grid connected photovoltaic solar system and the isolated photovoltaic solar system. The text presents basic concepts regarding the photovoltaic solar energy production. The operation and component parts of photovoltaic solar panels are explained. The main technologies present in the market and their characteristics are mentioned below. Also considered are the rules and regulations related to the installation of photovoltaic panels to the power grid. After the theoretical analysis, both photovoltaic systems are designed, considering the electricity consumption by the chosen residence and the generation capacity on site. Finally, the economic feasibility study is carried out for both projects and the comparative between them.
