Análise do sistema de atendimento ao paciente em uma unidade de pronto atendimento: estudo de caso utilizando a simulação

Abstract

Time in the health care queue, according to the risk classification, is an indicator of the performance of a Emergency Care Unit (UPA). Long wait times can lead to overcrowding of units and worsen patient care. In this context, the objective of this work was to apply computational simulation techniques to analyze the operational dynamics of the service process of a Emergency Care Unit located in the western region of Paraná. A dynamic, discrete and stochastic model was implemented in the JaamSim simulation software. Simulation results have shown that waiting times in the queue of doctors’ offices are lower than the times recommended by the Manchester Protocol.
