Quantificação de sedimentos desprendidos em eventos de chuvas no talude de jusante da barragem de terra da margem esquerda de Itaipu

Abstract

This present work a quantification of the generation of sediments by rain events in the left margin of the downstream slope of the earth dam in Itaipu through sediment sampling generated in collecting systems installed in the dam. To determine the erosion present in the dam was carried out a soil characterization study to a soil variation analysis since dam building era to the present day. An analysis of rainfall that occurred was done in the period studied for a correlation with the generated sediment. It was realized that there was an entrainment of fine soil particles since its construction. It was concluded that a larger number of collecting data generation sediment would be required to determine an erosion pattern in the dam.
