Unconventional food plants (PANC), for the most part, are ruddy and spontaneous plants. PANC have a significant nutritional value, being sources of minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins, and can be included in the food of the people and thus contribute to the food and nutritional security (SAN) of the individual, and many are used in medicine popular. In this way, the present work aims to perform a survey of PANC species found spontaneously and / or cultivated by farmers in the Municipality of Pato Branco - Paraná. Ten families of family farmers distributed in the Municipality were selected for the survey. In each property, an interview was conducted with two questionnaires, the first one was applied with the aid of a photographic herbarium, formed by planks of 35 species, investigating the recognition and consumption of the family by PANC. The second questionnaire was a semi-structured questionnaire, in which the questions were directed to the knowledge about the term and the consumption of alternative plants. After the interview, there were collected PANC in the property and these were taken to the Laboratory of Botany of UTFPR - Campus Pato Branco where they were herborized and classified according to the APG III. The farmers recognized the great majority of the species presented in the photographic herbarium, however their applicability was in the use for teas and others in the in natura consumption. A total of 22 species, 22 genera and 17 families were cataloged from the survey carried out on the properties of the farmers interviewed.
