dc.description.abstractSocial responsibility includes companies, governments, nongovernmental organizations and society with the aim of managing the social, economic and environmental risks that may bring impacts, seeking a differentiated management processes and decisions, guiding the management value chain and engaging the organization, stakeholders and society. The social responsibility practices undergo changes constantly because of globalization, increased mobility, accessibility and availability of instant information, which indicates that people and organizations have more access to the decisions and actions of organizations. The theme was chosen because of its fundamental importance in recognizing these actions within organizations and their influence on society and stakeholders, a survey was conducted through literature, books, articles and essays that describe acts of social responsibility in various types of organization and the benefits to society, stakeholders and community. Many organizations have implemented actions of social responsibility, such as environmental preservation in the community where it operates, vocational courses for training of manpower, support pregnant women and children through daycare services, paving services and improving the structure of neighborhoods of the community, between other. But there are other initiatives and tools that make a socially responsible organization, and work practices that should be legalized, preserving the environment, care for the consumer and the organization's management.
