Resumen
In order to reduce the use of pesticides, the present work proposed the use of layered hydroxysalts (HSL), with the general formula M2+(OH)2-x(An-)x/n.zH2O – where M2+ is the metallic cation and An- is the intercalated anions - and layered double hydroxides, whose generic formula is [M2+1-xM3+x(OH)2]x+(An-)x/n.yH2O; where M3+ and M2+ are the metallic cations and A is the n- charged anion, as an inorganic matrix for intercalation with the surfactant dodecylsulfate. After intercalation, the adsolubilization of sulcatol and sulcatone pheromones was performed. According to the literature, pheromones have an effective action in integrated pest management, however, as they are volatile, they are dispersed very quickly, decreasing their effectiveness. The present work appeared as an attempt to solve the problem, since the use of the inorganic matrix resulted in a slower release of pheromones. The techniques of X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrational spectroscopy in the infrared region with Fourier transform (FTIR) and thermal analysis (TGA) were used to characterize the product and, subsequently, a study of release kinetics was performed. The set of these analyzes revealed the success of the intercalation of the surfactant dodecyl sulfate in HSL and HDL, as it evidenced an increase in the basal distance calculated from the X-ray diffractograms and an improvement in the thermal stability confirmed by the thermogravimetric analysis. Regarding the adsolubilization of pheromones, positive results were found for solids intercalated with DDS, evidenced by the diffractogram, infrared spectrum, which presented characteristic bands of the adsolubilized compounds, and thermal analysis.
