Resumen
The assessment is an issue that is constantly being discussed in schools because of the composing process of teaching and learning. Can be carried out continuously, procedural and training with a variety of instruments selected according to the objectives highlighted. Formative assessment should be prioritized in the school routine, especially in the upper grades of elementary school, the focus of this research. The objective of this study was to analyze and reflect on the theoretical frameworks that address the topic, beyond the contribution of other research on formative assessment for final grades of elementary school highlighting the importance to conduct the promotion, enhancement and correction of students the possible distortion observed during the course of production. The work is based on research with qualitative and exploratory approach through a literature review. This research can contribute to reflection on formative assessment in the teaching / learning process, and still be one of the benchmarks for other researchers who want to continue the studies.
