Resumen
Science Teaching addresses various contents in its area, many of which are difficult for students to understand, as they are made up of complex terms and concepts. In this context, there is a need for teachers who teach the discipline of Science in Elementary Education, to expose the content in a way that is easy to understand. The students' difficulty with science content occurs for several reasons, among them, the way it is approached by the teacher or the lack of resources available for classes. In addition, the teacher often settles down and teaches traditional classes using only the textbook, which results in little interest and low understanding on the part of the students. Some science books bring only representative images and contexts and it is difficult to understand, there is also a lack of equipment and materials in laboratories to take classes. In this context, the construction of three-dimensional didactic models comes to contribute and facilitate the understanding of abstract contents, promotingthe teaching process and improving learning in different years of Elementary School. With didactic models, the teacher can expose certain biological structures or processes, favoring the understanding of complex and abstract phenomena in science teaching. Thus, the objective was to build didactic models with biscuit dough for the Science discipline. For their construction, in addition to the biscuit dough, other materials were used, such as plastic staves, wooden bases, varnish, toothpicks, among others. Specimens of prokaryotic cell, eukaryotic cell, plant cell were built; virus form; forms of bacteria, male and female genital system. The didactic models were applied in two classes, one from the 7th and the other from the 8th year of a Public School in the rural area of the Municipality of Enéas Marques, Paraná. With the results obtained, such as the improvement in the understanding of the contents and the diversification of teaching methodologies, it was possible to conclude that the use of didactic models in science teaching constitutes an efficient tool in the improvement of the teaching-learning process.
