The fruit fly is among the main economic impact plagues for the fruit producer market. In this way, the search for alternatives to the control of this pest is verified. The objective of this study was to analyze the efficiency of methodologies for the control of fruit fly in the orchard of yellowwings (Psidium cattleianum Sabine), in the Southwest of Paraná. For this, the comparison and the combination between traps and commercial and alternative food attractions were defined. The traps used were McPhail; PET [marca registrada] bottle of 2 L colorless and green. The attractives used were based on the use of hydrolyzed protein and guava juice (Psidium guajava). Each trap was supplied with 250 mL of the solution of the attractive one in question, and hung in the trees of random form, having as parameter of at least 1,30 m of height from the ground. The experiment was set up in each season of the year, with two collections for quantification of insects captured at each station, with a seven day interval between them. The use of commercial food attractants in alternative traps, such as the colorless PET [marca registrada] bottle, showed greater efficiency for fruit fly capture, except for winter, where the combination of McPhail trap with guava juice excelled the other treatments. The attractiveness of both food attractions tested significantly reduced between the seventh and the fourteenth day after the experiment was set up. There is a need for monitoring of fruit flies in the four seasons of the year.
