Resumen
The development of the society with the growing needs to produce meaningful amounts of food has ensured significant damage to the environment due to the large amount of waste generated and large areas being degraded. In this context, the objective of this paper was to evaluate the efficiency of compost from the composting of poultry litter and urban pruning in the development of Ilex paraguariensis (erva mate). The compound was performed in the experimental area of - UTFPR - FB, it was monitored by pH, water content, temperature and volatile solids parameters. After treatment, the compounds were evaluated for the potential for mate seedling production. For this production five treatments were used, T1: 30% compost and 70% underground soil; T2: 20% compost and 80% subsoil; T3: 10% compost and 90% subsoil; T4: 0% compost and 100% subsoil; T5: Commercial Substrate. For monitoring the seedlings, the phytomorphological characteristics were verified shoot length, coleto diameter and leaf number. It was possible to obtain a stable compound from the residue of poultry litter and urban pruning. Verifying the average values of all phytomorphological parameters analyzed, it was observed that no significant differences were observed in height growth, stem diameter and leaf number among the evaluated treatments.
