Incidência de ectoparasitas em propriedade rural com o uso do Azadirachta indica A. Juss na dieta de vacas leiteiras

Abstract

Neem is a herbal product that allows the control of ectoparasites present in cattle herds, in a sustainable and effective way, reducing the possibility of losses in production and bringing better results to the final product. The objective of this study was to evaluate the neem in the diet of dairy cows on the prevalence of ectoparasites. The research was developed in a property located in the Antônio Companheiro Tavares Settlement (Apar), located in the city of São Miguel do Iguaçu - PR. The animals were treated with 2 kg of feed per head during milking. The feed consisted of mineral salt, sugar cane and Napier grass and to this compound was added 6 grams of neem powder per animal, administered twice daily. The total number of animals was 18, with 13 lactating cows and 7 calves. The counts of the telegraphs of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus microplus), Haematobia irritans, Stomoxys calcitrans, and berne (Dermatobia hominis) on the animals were carried out. The analyzed data were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis. The use of neem powder obtained positive results in the control of ectoparasites.
