As queimadas de 2020 no bioma pantanal e seus respectivos reflexos socioambientais

Abstract

The year 2020 was marked by intense fires in the Pantanal biome that resulted in a significant loss of land for the Complex, as well as its fauna and flora, in addition to directly affecting the local community. The present study aimed to analyze the socio-environmental consequences of the burnings of the year 2020 in the Pantanal Biome and in the life of the local population, contemplating the main areas that had fire outbreaks, in the surroundings of Cuiabá-MT, brings as research the reports, challenges and socio-environmental consequences of the worst fire in the biome's history. Presenting and analyzing the testimonies of traditional peoples of the region, collected from October 27th to November 5th, in a qualitative way in the form of unstructured interviews, which included nine participants of different ages and genders, supported by photographic records and observation the field. This research listed the consequences of these fires with the lack of public policies and unpreparedness of the community for such a situation, and also provides a way to contribute to the awakening of new strategies, using Environmental Education as a tool for recovery and training of the community, as well as critical thinking about anthropic actions and the results that can guide conservation. It is expected that through the data disclosed here, the importance of protecting our environment and the local culture that each region has is highlighted.
