Resumen
Several researchers in the field of education have signaled, as proposals, methodologies that oppose the traditional way of teaching, not that the traditional model of education should be abolished, but complemented with other forms of education. The use of simulators is an option to make the class more attractive and dynamic, creating a scenario for the students' participation in an active and reflexive way, taking into account the constructivist line of teaching. However, simulators may be effective technological tools as long as they are applied correctly. Therefore, a proposal was developed that consisted of an application of a didactic sequence with the use of simulator, available on the website: https://phet.colorado.edu/en_en/simulation/legacy/states-of-matter, a software made available free and online, developed by the Technology in Teaching Physics (PhET) project of the University of Colorado to the students of the 6th grade of the group A of a private school in Campo Mourão / Pr. It consisted of a bibliographical and field research. The presentation of the content was made by the teacher of the class and after, application of the didactic sequence through the manipulation of the physical states of the water, using the simulator and discussion of the results among the students. This done, to answer the following question that involved the general objective of this work: is the use of simulator in the classroom an instrument to facilitate learning? The results indicated that the simulator can and should be used as an auxiliary tool in teaching, since its application with the students showed a satisfactory progress in the teaching / learning process.
