En la presente investigación se exponen diversos criterios doctrinarios y jurisprudenciales sobre algunos de los mecanismos de protección de la Constitución consagrados en la Constitución de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, con especial mención sobre el principio de separación de poderes, el control político y el control judicial. Para la realización de este trabajo se utilizó la metodología de tipo documental, empleando técnicas de análisis de contenido y hermenéutica jurídica. Se concluye que el principio de separación de poderes, así como, el control político y el control judicial garantizan la efectividad y efi cacia del principio de la supremacía constitucional, siendo los mecanismos de protección los que delimitan las atribuciones de los órganos del Poder Público Nacional, mecanismos que forman parte del sistema de frenos y contrapesos.In the present investigation, several doctrinal and jurisprudential criteria are presented on the mechanisms of protection of the Constitution enshrined in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with special mention on the principle of separation of powers, political control and judicial control. For the accomplishment of this work the documentary type methodology was used, using techniques of content analysis and legal hermeneutics.
