The issue of employment of people with disabilities has been the subject of legal treatment by international agencies. The United Nations (UN) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have comprehensively addressed this issue, which is not excluded Venezuela. This research aims to carry out a legal-dogmatic analysis of both constitutional provisions and legislative provisions that enshrine the legal framework to protect the employment of people with disabilities in Venezuela. It also refers to the various existing international instruments in this field is done. Also conducting a study of the relevant jurisprudence of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court interpreted the constitutional maximum text. This study is documentary and research is descriptive. The results show that although there is a comprehensive legal framework of protection in employment of persons with disabilities, today it is evident that this group still has few opportunities for employment, which affects Venezuela in right to independence and comprehensive socio-economic development of these people.  Este estudio es de tipo documental y la investigación es descriptiva. Se concluye que tanto las disposiciones establecidas en la Constitución como los criterios dictados por la Jurisprudencia reiteran la importancia del derecho al trabajo de las personas con discapacidad para la vida social. El marco jurídico venezolano desarrolla distintas modalidades de empleo para este colectivo, tanto de las relaciones laborales bajo subordinación, las formas de iniciativas por cuenta propia y el empleo con apoyo para personas con discapacidad intelectual. El régimen sancionatorio del marco jurídico venezolano de la inserción laboral de estas personas es amplio y explícito en sus montos y procedimientos.
