The central theme of this essay is the quantitative approach proposed by William Briones in educational research. Therefore, to analyze the relationship between research and pedagogy we must refer and place results of investigations conducted within the social sciences can be incorporated or should be incorporated into the corpus of pedagogy, understood as science synthetic and, possibly, to didactics, understood as the methods and techniques that are used or are suitable for teaching. Despite the boom of the qualitative approach there are investigations requiring its aim and purpose of the hypothetical-deductive approach or simply the triangulation of methods.El tema central de este ensayo es el enfoque cuantitativo propuesto por Guillermo Briones en las investigaciones educativas. Por lo tanto, al analizar la relación entre investigación y pedagogía debemos referirnos y ubicar qué resultados de las investigaciones realizadas dentro de las ciencias sociales pueden ser incorporadas o deberían incorporarse al corpus de la pedagogía, entendida como ciencia sintética y, posiblemente, a la didáctica, entendida como los métodos y técnicas que se utilizan o son apropiadas para la enseñanza. A pesar del boom del enfoque cualitativo existen investigaciones que por su finalidad y propósito requieren del enfoque hipotético deductivo o simplemente la triangulación de métodos.
