| dc.description | This article is the advance of a broader investigation, so its purpose is framed in presenting the progress of a translation system proposed to translate from English to Spanish applying minimal phrases. The research from which this work originates is of a qualitative type with emergent design and hermeneutical phenomenological method. The scope of study was the Dean of Sciences and Technology of the Universidad Centroccidental "Lisandro Alvarado" (UCLA, Venezuela). Observation and the self-administered survey were applied as information gathering techniques. In this sense, two English classes were observed on the content of the noun phrase, taught by different teachers. The survey was applied to 5 sections of students from the careers Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis, Production Engineering, Bachelor of Mathematics and Degree in Physics; from there, 5 questionnaires were selected. Triangulation was applied from the collected information contrasted with the theoretical references. So far, the analyzes have allowed the following interpretations to be made: a) teachers use the content of the noun phrase as the main element for teaching translation from English to Spanish; b) Students can recognize the nucleus in short noun phrases, however, when the phrase is accompanied by premodifiers and postmodifiers, it becomes confusing for the student. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo es el avance de una investigación más amplia, por lo que su propósito se enmarca en presentar los progresos de un sistema de traducción propuesto para traducir del inglés al español aplicando frases mínimas. La investigación desde la cual se origina este trabajo es de tipo cualitativa con diseño emergente y método fenomenológico hermenéutico. El ámbito de estudio fue el Decanato de Ciencias y Tecnología de la Universidad Centroccidental “Lisandro Alvarado” (UCLA, Venezuela). La observación y la encuesta autoadministrada se aplicaron como técnicas de recolección de información. En este sentido, se observaron dos clases de inglés sobre el contenido de la frase nominal, impartidas por docentes distintos. Se aplicó la encuesta a 5 secciones de estudiantes de las carreras Ingeniería Informática, Análisis de Sistemas, Ingeniería de Producción, Licenciatura en Matemáticas y Licenciatura en Física; de allí, se seleccionaron 5 cuestionarios. Se aplicó la triangulación a partir de la información recolectada contrastada con los referentes teóricos. Hasta el momento, los análisis han permitido realizar las siguientes interpretaciones: a) los docentes utilizan el contenido de la frase nominal como elemento principal para la enseñanza de la traducción del inglés al español; b) los estudiantes pueden reconocer el núcleo en las frases nominales cortas; sin embargo, cuando la frase está acompañada por premodificadores y posmodificadores, la misma se torna confusa para el estudiante. | es-ES |
