Se realizó el estudio retrospectivo de 1469pacientes que interrumpieron su embarazoa través de una cesárea en el Hospital SanPedro Claver con el objetivo fundamental deconocer la incidencia de la misma, sus indicacionesy algunas características propias decada una de las pacientes. Encontramos unatasa de cesáreas superior a lo que establece laOMS, algunas de ellas no justificadas por laliteratura. Existe mayor incidencia de cesáreaen gestantes nulíparas, entre 20-29 años deedad, con edad gestacional comprendida entrelas 37-41 semanas.   The retrospective study was conducted of1469 patients who terminated their pregnanciesthrough a cesarean delivery at HospitalSan Pedro Claver with the primary aim ofdetermine the incidence of it, its indicationsand some characteristics of each patient. Finda caesarean section rate than that establishedby the OMS, some not justified by the literature.There is an increased incidence of cesareansections in nulliparous pregnant women,between 20 to 29 years of age, gestationalage ranging between 37 to 41 weeks.
