| dc.description | In the 1990s, a new relationship emerged between the market, gender and sex, and –by extension—between bodies and their representation in fiction. For example, both on television and literature homosexual characters come out of the closet and stop being caricatures. This article attempts to show how this new relationship is expressed through the literary handling of the male sex worker in Nombre de guerra of Claudio Zeiger (1999), same-sex parenting in Y un díaNico se fueof Osvaldo Bazán (1999), and the HIV-positive character in Un año sin amor. | dc.description | En los años 90 se constata la aparición de una nueva relación entre el mercado, el género y el sexo y, por extensión, entre los cuerpos y su representación en la ficción. Por ejemplo, tanto en el cine como en la televisión y en la literatura, los personajes homosexuales salen del clóset y dejan de ser caricaturas. Este artículo intenta mostrar de qué manera se manifiesta esta nueva relación a través del tratamiento literario del prostituto gay en Nombre de guerra de Claudio Zeiger (1999), de la homoparentalidad en Y un día Nico se fue de Osvaldo Bazán (1999) y del portador de VIH Un año sin amor.
