Activities on these results, the air conditioner water can be used in domestic activities such as general cleaning, water for toilets and irrigation of plants. Air conditioner water, depending on its quality, could be used in domestic activities and cause an impact on the reduction of drinking water usage. The objective of the present work was to evaluate if the composition analysis (physicochemical and microbiological factors) of the air conditioner water, indicates that it can be considered good quality water suitable for domestic activities. The amount of water produced by air conditioner equipment (depending on its rated capacity) in a residential complex, was measured daily (at day and night intervals) for 15 continuous days. In each sample collected, ambient temperature and relative humidity were recorded. Physicochemical and microbiological parameters were analyzed for both, air conditioner water and drinking water, following the corresponding standardized protocols. Results show that 12000 BTU’s air conditioner equipment produced 1.5 L /h, the18000 BTU’s produced 2.96 L /hand those of 24000 BTU, 4.2 L /h. The physicochemical and microbiological characteristics were within the sanitary requirements of the legal regulations, which make the air conditioner water to qualify as good quality water. The results obtained for the potable water exceeded those of the air conditioner water, being the most relevant Dissolved Total Solids, Conductivity), Sulphates and CaHardness. Based on these results, the air conditioner water can be used in domestic activities such as general cleaning, water for toilets and irrigation of plants. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar las características fisicoquímicas y microbiológicas del agua de aire acondicionado (AA), compararlas con el agua potable (AP), y determinar si es agua de buena calidad, desde el punto de vista fisicoquímico y microbiológico porque pudiera ser usada en actividades domésticas. Se midió diaria-mente durante 15 días, en horarios diurnos y nocturnos, la cantidad de agua producida por los AA según su potencia, en un conjunto residencial. En cada colecta, se registró la temperatura ambiental y la humedad relativa. Se determinaron los parámetros fisicoquímicos y microbiológicos, a ambos tipos de agua, siguiendo los protocolos estandarizados respectivos. Los resultados evidencian que, los AA de 12000 BTU produjeron 1,5 L/h, los de 18000 2,96 L/h y los de 24000 BTU 4,2 L/h. Las características fisicoquímicas y microbiológicas estuvieron dentro de los límites sanitarios establecidos por la normativa legal, lo que califica al agua de AA como de buena calidad. Los valores obtenidos de los parámetros fisicoquímicos, en el AP superaron a los del agua de AA: los más resaltantes fueron: Sólidos Totales Disueltos, Conductividad), Sulfatos, Dureza Cálcica. El agua de aire acondicionado puede ser utilizada en actividades domésticas como limpieza, agua para pocetas y riego de plantas.
