Abstract
1. Total carbon was determined in 25 samples of soil using the Official wet oxidation method and the chromic acid method of White and Holben (14). The results were compared with those obtained by Waterman (13) with the Parr dry combustion method. 2. The Official wet combustion method compared favorably with the absolute method of Parr. The method of White and Holben (14) gave consistently low results. Resumen en español.
