Resumen
In recent decades, urban mobility has been problematic in many cities around the world. The daily commuting of urban populations has become more time-consuming and the formation of traffic jams is something that is part of the routine of large urban centers. As a result, studies on Travel Generating Poles have gained importance, as these projects are key parts of urban mobility as they are both able to aggravate existing traffic jams, as well as to mitigate this problem when well planned and allocated at strategic points in the cities. In this context, this work has as its main objective to contribute to a greater understanding of what has been the direction of scientific production alluding to the generation of trips, a fundamental step in any study that addresses Travel Generating Poles. For this, a bibliometric analysis of the literature on the subject in the last twenty years was performed and as a result, the analysis of 572 publications is presented, with their quantitative evolution, contributions by country, by institution, by journal and by researcher, in addition to of useful keyword analysis works. After the study, it could be verified that research on travel generation is on the rise and that the United States is by far the country with the most publications on the subject.
