Co-occurrence of hemiscrotal agenesis with cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita and hydronephrosis affecting the same side of the body

This study's central objective is to determine how several individual, organizational and ergonomic factors influence the relationship between job stress and mental workload for workers in an electronics company. Across-sectional study was made as a test of hypotheses regarding that relationship. The sample is composed of 95 workers, of both sexes, from the electronics industry in the metropolitan zone of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Ergonomic conditions were evaluated with the Ergonomic Evaluation List, stress was evaluated by administering the SWS-Survey to groups of subjects, and mental workload was evaluated with the NASA-TLX Workload Index. Using Cochran's and Mantel-Haenzsel statistics, the odds ratio for each of the independent variables was {e}stimated as a risk factor for job stress, and analysis was later conducted by means of logistic regression for those risks found to be significant. Of the 95 worker participants,26.3% presented a high level of job stress and 17.9% of the workers were found to present high levels of mental workload. The results show that working hours, mental demand, temporal demand, and frustration when faced with a given task may be considered risk factors for job stress. " 2007 IOS Press. Patients with stress incontinence or urgency, local irritation, infection, distal stenosis or a neoplastic process have very similar symptoms. Objective: Determine the frequency of bladder structural lesions detected by urethrocistoscopy in which we performed bladder biopsies. Material and method: Descriptive, retrospective, analytical study of files and videos of 331 patients treated in Urodifem de Occidente (private Urogynecology Center). Thirty-five biopsies were taken. The statistical analysis was expressed as means standard deviations, ranges, percentages and Fishers test. Results: Patients ages range 30-90 years average 60+13.76. Predominant symptoms were: irritative vesical syndrome 62.8%; pelvic pain 45.71%; urge incontinence 31.4%; hematuria 31.4%; vesical voiding dysfunction 11.4%. Principal endoscopic findings: Urethrotrigonitis; glomerular lesions or Hunner ulcers; vesical trabeculations; tumor or suspect lesions. Histopathologic findings were: Interstitial Cystitis 42.9%; chronic Cystitis 11.4%; Cystitis glandularis 8.6%; Cystitis follicular 11.4%; bladder cancer 5.7%; Vesical Papilloma 5.7%. Corona-Rivera, A.",,"2014",,"To our knowledge, there are nine previous reports of patients with congenital scrotal agenesis (CSA), seven of which were bilateral, and unilateral in two, also named as hemiscrotal agenesis (HSA). Here, we report a male infant with the previously undescribed co-occurrence of HSA with cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita (CMTC), and hydronephrosis due to vesicoureteral reflux, all of them on the left side. CMTC is a segmental vascular malformation usually attributed to mosaicism of a postzygotic mutation, whereas the mechanisms in the CSA involve a failure on the labioscrotal fold (LSF) development due to a localized 5?-reductase deficiency and/or androgen insensitivity. Since the skin with HSA was affected also by CMTC and by the fact that it exhibited lack of response to the topical testosterone treatment, all this suggests to us an androgen insensitivity mosaicism in our patient restricted to the left LSF, because skin with intact androgen receptors normally shows some type of response. Since CSA and/or HSA have been also seen in patients with PHACES, popitleal pterygium syndrome, or as part of a recently proposed familial entity with CSA (or agenesis of labia majora as its female counterpart), developmental delay, visual impairment, and moderate hearing loss, further reports could confirm this manifest genetic heterogeneity, highly evocative of somatic mosaicism in our patient.
