Review information about the breast in transgender women. Methods: A search of articles registered in Pubmed and Lilacs database with the terms “Breast and transgender women” (Pubmed) and “mama y mujeres transgénero” (Lilacs) were undertaken in July 2021, without the use of filters, searching for articles with primary information. Results: The database searches found 115 articles of which, after selection and full reading of them, 33 were finally extracted for inclusion in this review. Articles are grouped on breast changes with therapy to feminize, breastfeeding, reports of benign breast pathology, augmentation mammoplasty, screening, breast cancer, anaplastic large cell lymphoma associated with breast implants and others. Conclusions: Breast development is very important for transgender women, and breastfeeding is also important for some. To achieve this, they undergo medical treatments and often surgical procedures. However, this is also accompanied by changes in risk factors and the possibility of developing benign and malignant tumors. Primary information on these topics is presented.Revisar la información sobre la mama en la mujer transgénero Métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda de artículos registrados en la base de datos de Pubmed y Lilacs con los términos “Breast and transgender women” (Pubmed) y “mama y mujeres transgénero” (Lilacs) sin uso de filtros, realizada en julio de 2021, buscando artículos con información primaria. Resultados: La búsqueda en las bases de datos encontró 115 artículos de los cuales, luego de la selección y lectura completa, se extrajeron 33 para su inclusión en esta revisión. Se agrupan los artículos en cambios mamarios con la terapia para feminización, lactancia, reportes de patología mamaria benigna, mamoplastia de aumento, pesquisa, cáncer de mama, linfoma anaplásico de células grandes asociado a implantes mamarios y otros. Conclusiones: El desarrollo mamario es muy importante para la mujer transgénero y en algunas también lo es la lactancia. En su consecución se someten a tratamientos médicos y con frecuencia a procedimientos quirúrgicos. Sin embargo, esto también se acompaña de modificaciones en los factores de riesgo y en la posibilidad de desarrollar tumores benignos y malignos. Se presenta información primaria sobre estos temas.
