SUMMARY: Preschool teachers, despite the provisions of initial education curriculum, continue to develop activities without considering the interests and needs of children. For this reason it is important to know if the contributions of the Montessori methodology could lead to changes in teaching, especially on its students in current formation process and over the institutions where they work in and perform their practices. The type of research was Interactive and a questionnaire was developed, validated and applied for the detection of needs of students about the Montessori methodology. Then, the results were analyzed, and a workshop was designed, evaluated and implemented about this methodology. As result, the objectives were fully achieved. The students improved learning environments within the institutions and said that such workshops should also be given for collaborating teachers of the institutions where they currently perform their practices in order to improve even more the positive influence of the methodology.
